Updated Design Elements
Separate Colors for RAYA and User
Using different colors for RAYA and the user’s messages clarifies the conversation flow, making it easier to see who is speaking and enhancing the user experience.
Suggestion Chips
Suggestion chips are placed above the input box for easy access, helping users interact smoothly with the chatbot's guidance.
Chat Type Area and Send Icon
The red chat area, which confused users, has been updated to a more inviting color, reducing confusion and encouraging participation.
Info Icon
Users can click the Info Icon in the top right corner of the chat box for assistance, including restarting the conversation or reporting issues.
Design Comps
Simple UI design keeps the interface clean and uncluttered
Used distinct message bubbles to separate user and chatbot dialogue
Designed typing indicators to show bot is preparing a response
Legible text is easy to read with appropriate font size, line spacing, and contrast
Responsive app for mobile phones, tablets, and desktops
Conclusion
This project showcased my holistic approach to UX and visual design, driving significant improvements in Akraya's chatbot, RAYA. It highlighted the importance of consistency, clarity, and empathy in conversational design, as well as aligning design with brand identity. Overall, it demonstrated my skills in UX/UI design and user-centric thinking, creating a more engaging and effective virtual recruiter.
